earlier there were internal dilemmas
the whining
is the child worth the effort?

day of birth satisfaction
the quiet feeling of accomplishment
a hint of pride

all to be lost tomorrow
or not
the celebration is fraught
the presentation of self
the self appears bold and confident
there is a reason the ancients utilized masks

she works into it
preparations similar to battle or summer camp


end the night on the early bus
welcome 4:30 am
follow beer with coffee
to a plane
to a land
party clothes on
glassy eyes engaged
spirit high/low
discombobulated in the best of hazy "do with me what you will world" kind of way.
